Malkuth

We were doing some research recently and have been working with some stuff like the Qabbalistic Cross and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram which seems to be popular with certain magic practitioner people. I’m actually really liking the Cross, it feels familiar and like a good starting place for some things we do. But with the Cross, something got me thinking. Malkuth. I looked it up, and here’s what one page had to say:

SEPHIRA MALKUTH
GOD FORCE AH-DOH-NAI MEL-ECH (KINGDOM)
ANGELIC ORDER ASHEEM (SOULS OF FIRE)
ARCHANGEL SANDALPHON (MESSIAH)
SOUL G’uph (PHYSICAL SELF)

“Malkuth is the first sphere upon which an initiate enters the Tree of Life. It is in this realm that you learn of the existence of other things, other than the earth, and touch upon divine sources.”

So… what’s all this about “low vibrations” being “bad” among so many newagey people? Malkuth is literally the second point on the Cross, and is the bridge, or door, or connector, between the physical and everything not physical. You can’t complete the Cross without the Kingdom… which is earth.

Here’s a bit more to think about:

Malkuth means Kingdom. It is associated with the realm of matter/earth and relates to the physical world, the planets and the solar system. It is important not to think of this Sephirah as “unspiritual”. Even though Malkuth is the emanation “furthest” from the Divine Source, it is still on the Tree of Life and therefore has its own unique spiritual qualities. It is often said, Kether (the “highest” Sephira) is in Malkuth and Malkuth is in Kether.[2] As the receiving sphere of all the other Sephiroth, Malkuth gives tangible form to the other emanations. The Divine energy comes down and finds its expression in this plane, and our purpose as human beings is to bring that energy back around the circuit again and back up the Tree.

Do the people who think that things of earth are “low” and “dirty” and even “evil” to be gotten away from… do they not understand how important the connection of all this to the earth is? If you’re a physical person, you’re made of physical matter, and are existing on the physical plane, with solid plants and trees and rocks and things, like the old song goes. The tree has to be rooted in something, right? If it’s not rooted, it gets disconnected and lost… right? If you, a physical person, reject Malkuth, how do you bridge the gap and access the rest of the tree?

Notice what it says about the “angelic order” too. “Souls of fire.” That’s not fluffy stuff, trust me on that. It’s intense and can scare people and can be dangerous if you handle it wrong. But there it is. It’s part of the whole picture. If you’re rejecting the “low” or “dark” stuff, you’re throwing out a big chunk of how you, a physical person reading this, can work with these powers.

If you can’t handle Malkuth, you’re about to get a rude awakening when much darker and more intense and powerful stuff makes itself known and you don’t know how to deal with it.

Another song I like says “when you reach the top don’t forget where you came from.” For most people reading this, that’s Malkuth.

Quick PSA: I will be getting back to my review of the Brotherhood of Angels and Men soon. Kinda dropped the ball on that. Sorry. What reminded me of it is that she got handed a big stack of old metaphysical books by Stewart Edward White, I think from the 1940s? So I’ll be reviewing those in the future, and Call to the Heights by Hodson.

Thinking about Malkuth as I’ve been on our walks lately, I was also thinking about going through the Tree of Life too, but I’m not sure since so many others have already covered what the Sephiroth are and do. I kind of want to cover Daath at least, since so many people skip over the Void and don’t understand it. But I’ve lived it. I’ve been inside it. I’ve worked with it. So maybe I’ve just answered my own question.

It’s Here

Remember all those times when I said something’s coming? Check out this one, from February 2013. The world didn’t end in December 2012, it was a big fat catalyst point for where things are now.

A lot of people didn’t believe me. Some did, and I thank you for listening, but… these things get brushed off. “There’s always been strife,” people say. “There’s always war somewhere in the world,” people say.

Yeah, well.

I know I have a worldwide audience, so maybe my American perspective is skewing things, but Brexit is tearing the EU and UK apart, Greece has been a mess for years, only a tiny handful of nations can afford to put on the Olympic Games anymore, ice is melting fast at the poles, glaciers are disappearing, millions of trees are suddenly dying, and now the US is teetering on the cusp of a choice. A choice between light and dark, just like in the UK. The choice between moving forward toward a progressive future where all people are respected, and… the opposite.

As if adding a big fat period on the end of the sentence, today thousands of Native Americans were ordered to get off their own ancestral lands by December 5, so that a private company can continue to bulldoze sacred burial sites so they can build an oil pipeline to make rich people richer. Lands that the Native Americans have every right to be on because of treaties that the Federal government signed in the nineteenth century. Treaties that the same government is now ignoring.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better. People have already died, even before November 8. More are going to die. I wish I had better news. I wish I could do more, but I’m just one guy.

If ever there was a time for you to act, this is it. Yes, you reading my words right now. You can all do something. Donate, if you can. If you don’t have money, send emails and letters and make phone calls. If you don’t have somewhere to go if things get rough where you live, make plans now and pack a bug out bag. Learn how to grow or find food. Keep your gas tank full. If you’re in poor health, do what you can to improve it now. Take self defense classes. Take CPR and first aid classes. Learn Reiki and other kinds of energy work. Cast spells. Pay attention to your needs and rest if you’re getting burned out. Be there for others. Listen. Try to understand the anger and fear of oppressed groups. Be the light in the darkness.

Be the light. Be the light. Be the light.

You can save lives. Weather the coming storm the best you can. Be the shelter for others.

Be the light in the darkness. We need all the help we can get.

Have We Lost the War?

More senseless, maddening tragedy in the news tonight. Last night. Every night. People being slaughtered. People who are supposed to protect others murdering people in cold blood. People who are supposed to do something to prevent these things electing to do nothing. People acting on fear. Apathy. Racism. Classism. Misogyny. Privilege. Hate. Ignorance. Stupidity.

Nights like this, I really wonder if we’ve lost. The side of goodness, of the Light. Things seem so unbeatable and Dark and hopeless. Like it’s a tide of blood that never ends. Names. Faces. Gore. Bullets. Explosions. Death.

But we have to keep fighting. I have to remind myself, and you reading this, that the tide goes in waves. Ebb and flow. Dark and Light. I have to remind myself that this is all part of the change of the world. People choosing sides. Choosing between love and hate. Because that’s what it all boils down to, isn’t it? Do you choose to love other people unconditionally, even if you disagree with their life, their religion, their sexuality, their culture… or hate them because they’re different, and because you feel threatened in some way by that difference?

This is the moment. This is the moment where you choose what kind of world you’re going to make around you, because your actions ripple out. The butterfly effect. Every choice you make changes the world. Every choice changes you.

Please make the right choice. We can still keep things in balance and turn the tide. We can still push back the Darkness together. But we have to do it as a team, a force for good. Everyone makes a difference. Please do what you can.

The First Message

Here’s my notes on Chapter 2 of The Brotherhood of Angels and Men by Geoffrey Hodson, which is more of the messages he received from an angel he names as Bethelda. The chapter starts out with this:

Since the Great One has drawn so close to our world and to yours, it is of first importance that the bridge between the two should be fashioned, that the time may be hastened when it may be used freely from either side. We must devise better means of communication; and your studies might well have for their object the widening of the bridge and the instruction of your brethren in its use.

Okay, now this is a really good idea… BUT. Only if you know what you’re doing and are very, very sure that you’re not building a bridge to let dark stuff through instead. Which would fall under knowing what you’re doing. This would also fall under that:

The first essential on your side is a belief in our existence.

Why does that go under “knowing what you’re doing”? Well, for a lot of reasons. First, you have to know how to recognize different types of… “beings” for lack of a better term. Dark things can wear familiar faces to trick you, as I’ve said in the past here. Kids, don’t try this at home. Stunt driver, closed course, do not attempt… unless you’re an expert.

Next he mentions how science will eventually be able to detect our kind, which I’ve posted about a lot here. Then there’s this cool bit:

Our position in nature is closely akin to that of the engineer; he is not the force himself; he directs it…

I like that a lot. We are not the power. We are not made from the power. But we do direct that power as needed. We guide it, shape it, utilize it.

That knowledge is not likely to be obtained by the use of physical instruments; and, therefore, the second essential is an increase in the number of humans beings able to contact us.

Now, if you’re reading this right now, you’re already aware that we’re able to get through more now than ever. I’m sitting here typing this because a human type person heard me and lets me borrow her body to get this stuff done. Slightly creepy but effective. Hopefully, someday, this will be seen as normal and not creepy. But I think that’s going to be a while yet.

Speaking of… I actually just ran out of time and can’t finish this chapter’s notes tonight. Sorry. But that gives you something to look forward to, right?

Mars, Saturn, and Hard Choices

The language is too flowery for my taste, but this is really insightful:

The Alchemy of Iron and Lead

“Obsession upon the negative often masquerades as the courage to confront the heavy truth.  Yet it is as a limited a perspective as puerile positivity.  Together Mars and Saturn reveal the worst that this world has to offer.  It is truth, but it is by no means the whole truth.

“In addition to shining a spotlight on the hardest and sharpest facets of incarnation, Mars and Saturn also give birth to virtues which would not otherwise arise.

“When difficulty comes, when choices narrow, it can be said that we find ourselves in the rough embrace of Necessity.  When options are plentiful, and the store of grain abundant, we are diffuse, like the light of a gentle afternoon Sun over a meadow.

“Yet when dark clouds gather and the storm breaks, those sweet rays are not enough to pierce the gloom.  It becomes necessary to focus our light, to turn our lamps into swords of light.

“So make use of the winged messengers ability to rise above and survey difficult situations, to find strategies, cures and transmutations obscure in the moment’s hellish fog.”

I am a Light Warrior

archangel michael battling a demonThe Unknown Lightworker – The Light Warrior

As quoted from the above blog, click the link to read the whole thing:

Everyone in the new age/spiritual scene is familiar with what a lightworker is, but what about the Light Warrior?

What is unknown is the “hidden” lightworker that you may have seen them from time to time. They are the lurkers that sit in rooms, or various forums, and it seems the only time they speak up is when something controversial comes to the surface. Seeming cold, logical, and often times seeming negative, they are often misunderstood and disliked among the lightworker community.

The Light Warrior… those who make known all sides of any given issue or topic. Those who defend and fight for light and truth, either in the earth or astral realms. Those who restore, fight for, and keep balance in all things. The Light Warrior can and often will do those things that lightworkers do as well, but most often in a closed and one-on-one setting, and methods used may differ than those of most light workers. The light warrior methods may include the diplomatic but direct approach, bluntly honest in nature, but offering encouragement and support where needed and warranted. The light warrior approach may range from gentle and nurturing to a more intense, empowering “tough love” approach.

Light Warriors are aware of both sides of the coin, and defends the light by making all sides of an issue known, no matter how unpleasant or controversial.

The Light Warrior is silent, watches the flow of things around them. The light warrior is a staunch defender of the light and of truth (in all its various forms). The light warrior respects all paths and beliefs, but is quick to jump to the forefront of things if there is something important to be said. Often times the message the light warrior brings is against the grain, against the fabric of what most lightworkers believe or hold.

Lightwarriors defend light, fight evil, and make known those obstacles which could block the progress of spiritual seekers. With this in mind, this brings forth the different types of lightwarrior:

The Astral Defender… In the astral realms, it is the lightwarriors who are unseen as they go into battle against those dark forces who attack innocent souls both on the physical realm and in the astral realm. In gatherings of lightworkers where a psychic vampire is present and seeking a target, it is the lightwarrior that confronts the attacker and defends those that have been targeted.

The Defender of Truth… Mentioned above, it is this type of lightwarrior that tends to draw the most fire. The defender of truth knows that truth itself is highly subjective, each having its own meaning to those experiencing it. What is truth for one person might not be truth to another. The highly subjective nature of truth, and the infinite ideas that truth represents, provide a unique challenge to the lightwarrior. The lightwarrior speaks ideas to the masses whenever he/she sees an area of concern that needs addressed.

The lightwarrior knows that not all lightworkers have the same level of discernment, and is aware that with the subjective nature of truth– his/her ideas may not resonate with all, and is therefore left open to attack by those of whom his/her words may not resonate. The defender of truth’s style of speaking may vary from lightwarrior to lightwarrior, but often times it is the bold and upfront approach taken by some that tend to inspire one group of lightworkers, while drawing reproach from others. Many times those in support of the lightwarrior will voice their words in private, while those against the lightwarrior will voice their opinions publicly. This tends to give the appearance that the lightwarrior is speaking to an empty room, and sometimes leaves their credibility in question.

This is a risk the lightwarrior is aware of, and is willing to take in the name of the Greater Good for ALL.

Sometimes Work Requires Blood

Sometimes a wild god comes to the table.
He is awkward and does not know the ways
Of porcelain, of fork and mustard and silver.
His voice makes vinegar from wine.

This is for those of you who think that being “enlightened” or “spiritual” is all about sweetness and light and peace and zen, and if you’re not the equivalent of the Dalai Lama, you’re doing it wrong.

Allow me to disabuse you of that extremely simplistic notion.

You haven’t seen me in full-on battle rage. And it’s probably not something you ever want to see. It would probably frighten you, and would definitely give you a different opinion of who and what I am. So please read the full poem at the above link and consider it carefully. Sometimes dark things are extremely dangerous to you and those around you, and should not be taken lightly (pun intended), but sometimes we’re necessary. The fire can burn, but not if you understand how to handle it properly.

Edited to add: Now that I think more about it, this is the opposite of my previous post, When the Darkness Comes Disguised as the Light. Sometimes genuinely evil things can look like good things. Sometimes good things can seem evil until you understand them. It is critically important that you be able to tell the difference.

The Heart

heart chakra lightWhen you find the door in your heart that leads to God, open it as much as you can, as often as you can. Don’t remove the door completely, because you need to protect yourself sometimes. It’s a door into your soul just as it’s a door to let the Light shine out. Remember that sometimes lights attract moths and other unwanted things.

But the Light. Open up and let it shine. Be a vessel. Be a door for it. Let it through. The world needs it so badly.

Shirk Nothing, Not Even Darkness

hermann hesse

There is no light without shadow. There is no day without night. To deny these things means denial of half of reality. It’s a lie to say they don’t exist and live in a fantasy of light.

This is where you are. This is who you are. Your purpose is here and now, in this reality, fucked up and messy as it is. You’re here to experience this and help fix it where you can.

To pretend that you’re above it all, to pretend that you don’t belong to the world of filth and death and pain is the height of arrogance and selfishness. Avoiding these things means blinding yourself to the truth. Turning your back on these things turns your back on everyone around you going through filth and death and pain.

Make your choice, but know that even if you pretend you’re above it all, others see the truth.

When the Darkness Comes Disguised as the Light

evil behind a maskOne thing that’s always true about the darkness: It deceives.

I have seen it wear my brother’s face to try and trick me. I’ve seen it twist beauty into horror. I’ve seen it lie and beg and pretend to love in order to stay inside someone’s heart.

I’ve even seen the darkness use good intentions to smother someone in a quicksand of their own choosing. Of course, they thought they were navigating a path, but they were actually inside a maze that they were eventually mired in and could no longer see a way out of. Not that they wanted a way out. This trap was so clever that the person in the middle was utterly convinced they were on the path of Light, and around each corner was another tidbit of knowledge, and another, and another, so that the maze became the path itself. The more they walked, the more knowledgeable they felt they were, and the more they rejected those on the outside trying to help.

And the knowledge they found there? Some of it was valid, but some of it was worthless, and by the time they’d been around the maze a few times, it all blended together into newage quicksand. The original goal of fixing issues became a never-ending quest for ideas on how to fix them, until the quest was all that remained.

The things that are out there are very tempting, especially if there is no one to help guide you and give you reality checks. Especially if you flat out reject help or even any discussion. There is a universe of information out there about colors and crystals and spirits and hypnosis and chakras and thousands more techniques for self-improvement. However, some of this information is horseshit.

A very long time ago, people figured out that they could invent something amazing-sounding and charge money for it, as if it had value. This is called perceived value. If someone charges $1000 for a two-hour class on how eating dryer lint can give you telepathy, that makes it sound valuable no matter how ridiculous the class is. This is not to say that anybody charging for their time and effort is a scam artist, or that free classes are worthless. I’m just saying to think about what you’re buying. Just because someone is charging you for knowledge, that doesn’t automatically make it worthwhile knowledge.

In hard times, there are always people who profit from the pain of others. There are people who will lie to you about their amazing new “discovery” that will supposedly heal your mind, body and soul. They used to call them snake oil salesmen. These days, especially with the internet, there are more than ever. And the darkness knows this. It’s very clever, and finds sneaky ways to ensnare unsuspecting people.

The darkness deceives. Never forget this.
